that Chennai, or the rest of the world, can't forget happens to be the thrilling climax to the historic 2001 series against Australia. With the series tied 1-1 before the Test started at Chepauk, the anticipation for the third Test here was overbearing. And when India chased down the 155 runs in thrilling fashion, finally the fans got to see a result for which they had waited for so long.

But there are a few skeptics who say that it is only a matter of time before Chennai could also turn into just another Test venue. The city with a team in the Indian Premier League is now guaranteed to get its doze of cricketing excitement annually. And since that is the case there are very few people left who are willing to spend four days in the stands waiting for a not sure certain thrilling end to a Test match.

Chennai was best venue for Test, but I thought that weather could play spoil sport as it happened a few years ago!

Sachins brilliant feat

Much is being made by all and sundry about Sachins failed effort against Pakistan in 1999, when, inspite of his amazing innings of 136, it is being blamed on him that he fell short of taking India to Victory against Pakistan. How can people be so insensitive and cruel to Sachins monumental effort of 136 glorious runs , scored with a nagging back injury? How come no one is talking about the completely inefficient tailenders , nincompoops like Javagal Srinath, Venkatesh Prasad etc, who could not even score 12 runa between the 4-5 of them, to carry India to Victory? Cricket is a team game, and one man cant ensure a win however brilliantly he plays. It takes 11 men to either win or lose a game. That day against Pakistan , Sachin was a real hero, he tried his level best to carry the team to victory, but his stupid jerks of team mates, who had no pride in either themselves or sachins great knock or India, let the team down badly by miserably failing to score a pittance of 12 runs required.
