CBSE class 12th results: Girls outshine boys in examinations again

SummaryPass percentage of girls in CBSE class 12 examinations stood at 88.52 pct as compared to 78.27 pct for boys.

In the national capital, girls outshined boys by almost 10 per cent in the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) class 12 examinations results while the Delhi region stood third among the ten CBSE regions of the country this year.

Unconfirmed reports suggested that Delhi boy, Sarthak Aggarwal emerged as the overall topper in the country. CBSE, as per policy, does not reveal the names of the toppers.

Aggarwal a science student from DPS Vasant Kunj scored a remarkable 99.6 per cent.

Talking about his spectacular success, Aggarwal said that he had not taken any tuition. He emphasized on the quality of hours he had spent for studies before the examination.

The overall pass per cent was 86.78 per cent in the Delhi region while pass per cent among girls was 91.72 per cent.

Among boys it was 82.09 per cent, data released by CBSE revealed today.

Incidentally, last year also the overall pass per cent was 86.78 per cent when 82.44 per cent boys while 91.42 per cent girls had passed the exam.

Reports also said that G Harikrishna of Air Force Bal Bharti school, central Delhi topped in the commerce stream with 99.2 percent while in Humanities stream, Mugdh Sethia, a student of DPS Indrapuram and Vasudha Dikshit of Vasant Valley school emerged topper with 98.8 per cent.

The number of students placed in Compartment has decreased from 8.02 per cent in the year 2013 to 7.78 per cent in the year 2014.

This year, 302549 students had appeared for the CBSE class 12the exam in Delhi out of which 297466 have passed the exam.

Students from 1618 schools had appeared for the exams at 663 exam centres in the national capital.

The performance of Government Schools of Delhi is once again best in the Country amongst all Government Schools. The pass percentage of Government Schools of Delhi has increased by 0.02 per cent from 88.65 per cent in the year 2013 to 88.67 per cent in the year 2014.

The pass percentage of Government Schools is 88.67 per cent whereas 111 Government Schools has achieved 100 per cent result against 108 Government Schools last year. The 551 Government Schools has achieved 90 per cent result and above against 521 Government Schools last year.
