The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has set up a dedicated call centre for handling routine queries and grievances pertaining to activities and functions of the Board.
Students from various CBSE-affiliated schools, their parents, the school authorities and the public in general can obtain information of procedures/ rules and regulations of the Board, from the call centre. Aspirants and applicants for examinations like NEET, JEE and JNVST can benefit from the initiative, besides and recipients of CBSE scholarship schemes and CBSE school alumni.
CBSE officials said a dedicated team has been appointed to handle queries and grievances.
CBSE, an autonomous organization under the Union Ministry of Human Resource Development, has more than 8,900 affiliates including all Kendriya Vidyalayas, all Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas, many private schools, a considerable number of the schools approved by the Central government, and certain schools located outside India.
The Board has regional offices in Allahabad, Ajmer, Chennai, Guwahati, Panchkula and Delhi, and students and the school administration among other stakeholders across the country have been finding it tough to establish communication with the Board for routine queries and grievances. The call centre is aimed at putting an ned to this communication gap.
When contacted, some local CBSE-affiliated schools said they were unaware of the CBSE call centre. The school authorities hoped it would prove a big help to schools across the country.
“We often face difficulties in contacting CBSE for official work. The call centre will surely bridge the gap between the Board and the schools,” Krishnakumar, principal of Kendriya Vidyalaya Army Area, told Newsline Friday. Jnana Prabodhini Prashala’s vice-principal Milind Naik appreciated the step by the CBSE to connect with the stakeholders.
