The CBI has informed the Supreme Court that it has “so far” found no criminality in the 14 preliminary enquiries it registered on the court’s directions in the Niira Radia case.

While submitting the report on December 16, the agency asked the court for another month to probe the contents of the telephonic conversations handed over to it by the Income-Tax department. This is significant because prominent journalists and the corporate manager of a media house figure among the persons whose statements have been recorded by the CBI in the two months since the PEs were registered.
