Cardamom prices rose by Rs 19.10 to Rs 1,121 per kg in futures trade today, as speculators created fresh positions, driven by pick-up in spot market
demand due to marriage season.
Trading sentiment improved further on restricted arrivals
from producing belts.At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in March rose by Rs 19.10, or 1.73 per cent, to Rs 1,121 per kg in a business turnover of 692 lots.
Likewise, the spice for delivery in February moved up by
Rs 18.60, or 1.75 per cent to Rs 1,080 per kg in a trade
volume of 2,551 lots.
Market analysts said fresh buying by speculators on
firming trend at spot markets on pick up in exporters demand, mainly led to rise in cardamom prices at futures market.
