National Education Excellence Award 2010 to British Lingua

British Lingua has been conferred the National Education Excellence Award 2010 by the Economic Development Forum in recognition of its contribution towards education development. The organisation specialises in English language and soft skills training in India. The 26th Indian Achievers Summit was held on November 22 at the India Habitat Centre. As a part of its contribution towards education development, British Lingua conducted the spoken English skills and capacity building training programme in several districts of Bihar for the government high school teachers. More recently, British Lingua made a significant contribution to the Commonwealth Games by conducting English and behavioral skills training for the Delhi Home Guards. Buta Singh, former home minister, while presenting the award to Birbal Jha, MD of British Lingua, said, “In today’s economic development, the role of English education and training holds paramount importance as it leads to employability and enhances per capita income. The training organisation deserves all accolades for its noble services.”

Leading corporate giants celebrate ‘The Cup of Life’ with MDI Gurgaon

The first ever Corporate Futsal Tournament drew to a thrilling finish on the grounds of MDI. American Express beat RBS and emerged champions of the tournament. The finals were kicked off by Sunil Bhardwaj, secretary, Haryana Football Association. Sixteen corporates, including RBS, Barclays, Google, IBM, Wipro, Genpact, Maruti Suzuki and Cognizant, fought it out for ‘The Cup of Life’ spanning two days of thrilling football action. MDI is the first B-school in India to organise and host such an event on its campus. Futsal’s format is five-a-side football and is a shorter version of the game, played for only 30 minutes. In the finals, American Express had a hands-down victory over RBS by 3-0. The MDI team took home the Plate Trophy by defeating Google 3-1.
