and information technology Kapil Sibal called for reforms in the education system to make it child-centric. He criticised the tendency of dwelling over past and ignoring the future. Inaugurating the two-day CII Global University-Industry Congress and 5th Higher Education Summit, organised jointly by CII and AICTE last week, Sibal propogated a 10-year vision to create a comprehensive roadmap to facilitate radical reforms in education to ensure that India comes in the forefront of the world’s education fabric. He also emphasised the need for making education compatible to leverage the technological advancements—such as cloud computing—happening worldwide. In this regard he advocated providing the students with low-cost devices facilitating access to educational material and information anytime, anywhere.
