New Delhi:Civil Aviation Minister Ajit Singh met Law Minister Ashwini Kumar on Friday regarding setting up of a bench of the Allahabad High Court in Meerut (western UP). The Minister said the demand also has relevance as there are 14 lakh pending cases in the High Court and most of them are from western Uttar Pradesh region.
Car mows down 2 children in Chitrakoot
Lucknow:Two children were killed while two others injured on Friday when a car hit them in Karvi area of Chitrakoot district. Nine-year-old Ram Kumar and Om Prakash (7) were killed after being hit by the car in Vyur Ka Purva village, police said. The injured were rushed to a hospital, police said, adding that the car driver fled from the scene leaving the vehicle behind.
Youth killed in celebratory firing
Chandauli:A 26-year-old youth died in celebratory firing during a wedding in Sakaldiha area, police said on Friday. Abhishek Upadhya, a native of Pusauli in Bihar was injured in firing during the wedding ceremony in Dharahra village late Thursday night and he died while being taken to Varanasi, they said. He came to attend the marriage of a relative, police said.
