Chandigarh:After constituting a Human Rights Commission, the Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Monday announced that a State Commission for Scheduled Castes would also be set up in Haryana. “Although the state government has been ensuring social justice to all, the decision to set up the commission reflected government’s initiative to safeguard the interests of the weaker sections of society,” said Geeta Bhukkal, Haryana Minister for Welfare of SCs and BCs.
Comprehensive plan for Gorakhpur
Chandigarh:The state government has formulated a detailed plan to develop Gorakhpur village in Fatehabad district as a ‘model village’. A nuclear power plant is also set to come up at the village. “More than Rs 100 crore will be spent to implement various development projects, including a 55-bed hospital in the village,” a state government spokesperson said. Farmers of Gorakhpur, Kajalhedi and Baropal villages have provided land for the setting up of the nuclear power plant
HC sets aside orders quashing selection
Chandigarh:Two years after a single Bench of the Punjab and Haryana High Court quashed the selection of four ayurvedic medical officers of the Municipal Corporation, Jalandhar, the High Court on Monday set aside the Bench’s orders. Terming the selections as “unfair, arbitrary and actuated by bias”, Justice Vinod Kumar Sharma had on September 21, 2010 quashed the selection.
