New Delhi: Aviation turbine fuel (ATF) prices have been hiked taking the rates to a lifetime high of Rs 75,031 per kilolitre in Delhi, a steep 6.9 per cent. ATF had last scaled the high of Rs 71,028.26 per kl in August 2008 but four consecutive increases since June this year that had been necessitated by falling rupee, has seen the fuel price break all records.

Sensex up 266 points, R falls 30 paise to $

Mumbai: The S&P BSE Sensex on Monday shot up 266.41 points ending at 18,886.13. The rupee, however, ended two days of gains to fall by 30 paise to close at 66 against the dollar on demand from importers.

Tribunal quashes Sebi order against NSDL

Mumbai: The Securities Appellate Tribunal (SAT) has quashed an order against NSDL that was passed by Sebi in December 2008, but implemented only in July 2011 after being dismissed initially as ‘null and void’. The Sebi order had asked NSDL to conduct an independent inquiry to fix responsibility for failure at NSDL in the wake of IPO and demat scams between 2002-2006.
