Body found near Taj Mahal hotel

The body of an unidentified man was found in the Arabian Sea near Taj Mahal hotel on Sunday. Police said prima facie, it appears that the deceased was a beggar and may have drowned. Police said the deceased was in his 40s. Some evening walkers noticed the body around 6.30 pm and called the fire brigade. “The body was sent to St George hospital. An accidental death report has been filed,” said inspector Sanjivrao Mandlik.
19 arrested for ‘obscenity’ at bar
Eleven men and eight women were arrested from Raj Palace Permit Room near Dreamland Cinema in Grant Road area Saturday night for allegedly indulging in obscene activities, police said. Manager Manoj Yadav (27), steward Karan Prajapati (26), waiters Phuleshwar Yadav, Ajit Gop (23), Rajat Jena (31) and Dipak Yadav, guard Kedarsingh Bahadursingh (34), customers Santosh Gote (40), Sohanlal Jain (34), Sitaram Dayva (41) and Mahesh Vikeriya (44) and eight women were charged for obscenity. “They were produced before a court Sunday and granted bail,” said assistant inspector Anant Kamble of D B Marg police.
