Manogat Party mouthpiece says criticising Modi helps get Padma awards from Centre
The BJP mouthpiece in Gujarat, Manogat, has launched an attack on Governor Kamla Beniwal saying all those who criticised Chief Minister Narendra Modi got awarded by the Union government.
A graphic display in the fortnightly issue of the magazine dated November 10 with the heading “Gujarat Poochhe che...Congress pase chhe koi jawab (Gujarat asks...Does Congress have any answers)”, the magazine has put 80 questions listing out scams involving Adarsh Housing Society, LIC Housing Loan, power scam, Robert Vadra case, Common Wealth Games, KG basin allotment, 2G spectrum amongst others.
One of the graphic displays says, “Criticise Narendra Modi and take away Padmashri from the Congress government at the Centre” and it lists danseuse Mallika Sarabhai, lyricist Javed Akhtar, activist Teesta Setalvad, Former chief justice of India V N Khare as those who got Padma awards for “criticising Modi”.
Another one talks about how the “BJP Scam Expose Committee” bust a “Rs 1,000 crore worth land grabbing scam of Gujarat Governor Kamla Beniwal in Jaipur.”
The convener of BJP’s media cell, Jagdish Bhavsar, who also writes for the mouthpiece, says, “We have a scam expose committee that is headed by Kirit Somaiya from New Delhi. From time to time, the committee exposes scams”.
Prominent among the BJP’s list of grudges against Beniwal are her appointment of Justice (retd) RA Mehta as Lokayukta and recommending prosecution of minister of state for fisheries Purushottam Solanki in an alleged
