In a controversial statement that is likely to raise hackles of women groups, a minister in Madhya Pradesh has said girls seeking hostel facility should get a written undertaking from their parents that they will take care of their security.

"Girls might face problems if they stay alone. In view of this, girl students and their parents have to give in writing that they will take care of their security and then only the government will decide to build hostels for them as well," Madhya Pradesh Tribal and Scheduled Caste Welfare Minister Kunwar Vijay Shah said.

The minister said this while speaking on the concluding day of All India Vidyarthi Parishad's state level scheduled tribe programme on Saturday.

"The government can give them hostels, but the girls and their parents have to arrange for their own security," Shah said.

The government will bear hostel expenses, but the protection will be the responsibility of the girls and their parents, he said adding, that the girls should return to their hostels by 8 PM.

He said the state government had decided to build hostels for higher secondary students under 'Students' Hostel Programme'.

Indian men, especially ministers must arrange for their own security. Our taxes must NOT pay for ministers' security, leave alone for their transport, food, etc. Women officers are willing and able to take care of any security needed anywhere in India. All men unable to behave themselves, who lack toilet training or basic manners can be put into veils/ purdah/burkas immediately and kept at home and off public places. Those who are a menace to those living lawfully, peacefully must be locked up, not those who are attacked.

Shah looks like a guju jain who belongs to a community notorious to be irresponsible and living on the merits of others. This is an obvious statement from this useless guy. He means that the girls shall constantly stya in survilliance of the parents, which is not possible even when the girls stay with their parents. This is a direct statement of incapability and agreement and promotion of negative male dominance. Only a mawali like him can encourage another set of mawali ultimately grauating to be rapists. Why do parents bring up kids like Vijay Shah? His parents along with him shall be booked and jailed, then only the married couples will think twice for upbringing in a responsible way before having a kid.
