BJP flays Cong for attack on CAG
“The BJP condemns the non-stop way the Congress is out to denigrate institutions. It is surprising, in fact shocking, that even ministers from the Union Cabinet come out to question to destabilise and to also in a way demoralise institutions. We certainly would want to ask whether the Prime Minister approves of his ministers coming out and speak in such terms about bodies I’m sure he respects and honours,” BJP spokesperson Nirmala Sitharaman said on Saturday reacting to remarks made by Information and Broadcasting Minister Manish Tewari.
Given the fact that Congress president Sonia Gandhi had also put her weight behind the allegations made by the retired CAG official saying that the revelations had “exposed” the BJP, the saffron party spokesperson sought to know Sonia’s opinion on the allegations of against the business deals between her son-in-law Robert Vadra and a private real estate firm.
The BJP dismissed the claims being made by R P Singh, wondering whether the “this person’s words now are more valuable than when he signed them and submitted the report”.
