Congress General Secretary Digvijay Singh today alleged that the BJP was a "party of black marketeers and brokers" because of which it opposed the Centre's cash-for-subsidy scheme.

"It is a party of black marketeers and brokers," he told reporters, adding there was no problem with the BJP going to the Election Commission opposing the UPA government's cash-for-subsidy scheme.

Singh ridiculed BJP chief Nitin Gadkari for comparing Swami Vivekananda to Dawood Ibrahim as well as Ramdev for comparing Bhagat Singh to Ajmal Kasab.

When asked if his younger brother Laxman Singh may rejoin the Congress as he had recently met party president Sonia Gandhi, he replied that he would be happy if it happens.

This in sharp contrast to a statement made by Laxman Singh some days ago that BJP's Shivraj Singh Chouhan would become the Madhya Pradesh chief minister for the third time as the Congress was mired in groupism.

BJP is opposed to FDI in retail as well cash transfer of subsidies, as its trader base in dependent on retail as well as public distribution systems and the siphoning of funds which goes with it. After claiming policy paralysis, now they are opposing all good policies of the Govt.

Congress is at least act on the responses of the public and by all means better party. If they wanted to hold on to the LPG and fuel hike they could have done it until the elections to HP and Gujarat is over. But the country's interest was paramount and therefore, they went ahead and took a decision to put limiting the number of gas cylinders to 6 which has not gone well with me personally. But the subsidy saved can well be used for welfare of the people.
