Cellular major Bharti Airtel is likely to get additional spectrum in Maharashtra, along with new telecom licensees such as Unitech, Swan and Datacom.
The new licensees would be getting start-up frequency 4.4 MHz in the next two days, official sources said adding that Telecom Minister A Raja is likely to clear the file soon.
The allocation of spectrum has led to high valuation of Indian telecom companies, with even a new entity like Swan ,which is yet to start operations but has got spectrum in few circles, having a valuation of two billion dollars following picking up of 45 per cent stake for 900 million dollars by UAE-based Etisalat in the company last week.
