Sunil Mittal group company Bharti Teletech has been awarded 'Niryat Shiromani Puraskar' by Indian Council of Small and Medium Exporters for export of telecom and allied products.
During the year 2007-08, the company which makes phones under 'Beetel' brand exported around 1.3 million phones to 30 countries across five continents, a company release said.
"It is a matter of great pride for us to be recognized for our export initiatives by the Indian Council of Small and Medium Exporters... The award reinforces Beetel's manufacturing prowess in the telecom sector, not only in India but also globally," said Bharti Teletech CEO Sunil Goyal.
The telecom manufacturer is into distribution and marketing of wide range of products that include handsets and accessories, video conferencing products, set top boxes, fixed cellular phones & fixed wireless terminals.
The company also manufacturers landline phones at its Goa and Ludhiana facilities.
The Niryat Shiromani Puraskar for Exports, instituted by ICSME, recognizes companies that bring about a new culture of export efforts and contribute effectively towards the country's economic growth, the release added.
