Bharti Airtel launches 4G service in city
K Srinivas, president consumer business, Bharti Airtel, said the company has taken the broadband connectivity to the next level with the launch.
“Our speed will be much higher than the officially recognised 512 Kbps broadband speed. The customers will be able to access internet at a lightning speed,” he said. He said a minimum speed of 10-15 Mbps can be supported on 4G network.
Srinivas said the company has acquired licence to provide 4G facility in Punjab, Maharashtra, Karnatka and Kolkata and will launch the service in other cities as well.
“The 4G will empower customers with super fast access to high definition (HD) video streaming, multiple chatting, instant uploading of photos, rich content and much more,” he said. He said the company also plans to roll out country’s first multi-mode LTE TDD smart phone along with partners Qualcomm and Huawei, thus making voice telephony a reality for 4G users in India.
“We are excited to launch Maharashtra’s first 4G experience for Airtel customers in Pune. The response received by 4G services in Kolkata and Bangalore has been compelling, thus reinforcing our long-term focus on delivering technologies to fulfil the needs of country’s rapidly growing data evolution story,” said Srinivas.
