Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi today welcomed the hanging of Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru.

"Better late than never," Modi posted on microblogging site Twitter after the Centre announced that Guru was hanged at Tihar Jail here this morning.

Guru, a Jaish-e-Mohammed militant, was convicted of conspiracy in the December 2001 attack on Parliament and was sentenced to death by the Supreme Court in 2004.

After the hanging of Mumbai terror attack convict Ajmal Kasab, main opposition BJP had stepped up its demands for speedy execution of Guru.

Every year politicians paying tributes to 13th Dec,01 Martyrs in Parliament was creating a contempt towards them as the voice of relatives of Martyrs was subdued for political considerations of Vote-Bank politics.Actually public did not like to see these politicians' mere show. The matter has now been ended and the kith and kin of Martyrs as well as the whole Nation can feel this as a respect to Martyrs as they laid their life for the temple of democracy of the Nation.Congress tried to slow-down the process at its maximum, but the political currents taking place in the country compelled UPA to act.The governance paralysis, looting business thro'2G,CWG,COALGATE & so many scams together with mainly MODI'S RISING CLOUT AS A MAN WHO CAN DELIVER,forced this inactive Govt to act.The bias main-stream Media may not come out from its Congress-worship.But Indians do realize that coming-up of public anger has helped the Nation.Who should be congratulated, one who acted or one who compelled to act?
