: Best Talent For FinMin?
FE had obviously gone and interviewed Jaswant Singh at a weak moment (Sept 10), when he said “The best possible talent should man the finance ministry” and went on to ask where he ought to get them from. I assume he was referring not only to the Secretary, but also the Joint Secretary, Director, Deputy Secretary and Under Secretary levels.
Knowing how most people get into the finance ministry, one chuckles. Since when has the government evolved a system to get the best people in the finance ministry? Does the background of the officer get evaluated at all? In most cases, the finance ministry and specially the DEA, is highly regarded for the foreign trips it affords to officers. Most officers who come there ‘know’ important people, or are related to them, preferably sons and daughters of important people.
A gentleman, an MBA from IIM, was to come on central deputation, but he could never get to know when to apply and to whom. In fact, he had to go to the Section Officer’s house to find out when the next vacancy would arise. Transparency at its best! If the finance ...

» Tata Killed Roaming Charges

Once again hats-off to Ratan Tata for killing the roaming charges of mobile phones and setting standards to the communication industry. Hitherto, the telecom companies have become worse than daylight robbers in looting the public with unreasonable and unethical call charges, roaming charges, service charges and hidden charges.
Fortunately, this daylight robbery came to an end since Ratan Tata entered telecom industry to help millions of people with his competitive spirit and once again proved that business means quality and service at lowest lost %u2013 the priceless tradition of Tata group.
At least now, government must enforce per-second billing, one paisa per second for calls within India, two paise per second for calls outside India, three paise per SMS, hundred seconds talk time for every one rupee of the recharge coupon%u2019s MRP, zero charge for incoming calls, unlimited validity of the for the recharge coupons and nil hidden charges.
Since communication is a basic necessity, government must bring a law to enforce the above tariff and must provide all the support to the telecom industry for implementing the above mentioned tariff with immediate effect.
Finally, government must realize a fact that the progress of an individual or nation is directly proportional to the degree of ease and cost effectiveness at which communication takes place.

» Racism on Race

Like casteism in India, racism is on rise in many countries including the so-called advanced nations. Since this antihuman and inhuman practice has reached alarming levels, organizations like National Human Rights Commission, Global Human Rights organization, International Red Cross Society, NGOs etc. must take immediate action to curb this rapidly growing evil practice. Every day in some part of the world, someone is getting affected due to racial feelings and this serious crime is not uncommon throughout the length and breadth of the globe. Finally - individuals, institutions and nations must realize a fact that everyone on earth is a child of God and has a right and purpose to live in a rightful manner. Therefore it is awfully unlawful to suffer people with racial and national feelings. Lastly, the need of the hour is tighter international laws to fight this fast spreading menace across the globe. Since US President Barack Obama received Noble Peace Prize, let us hope that he delivers the right goods in the right manner at this right hour and rightly puts an end to this inhuman and antihuman activity that is causing serious problem to many innocent in the world.

ADAG Chief Anil Ambani deserves all the praise for taking lead to meltdown all the so-called disagreements and misunderstandings with his brother Mukheshbhai. This long awaited welcome move is priceless and praiseworthy since it gives endless happiness to every Indian in general and particularly to the family members, relatives, friends, well wishers and most importantly to the departed soul (Dhirubhai, the founder) of Ambani Empire on which Sun seldom sets. Let us hope that Mukhesh will reciprocate positively so that everyone in the nation can celebrate real Diwali since Anil-Mukhesh combine generates livelihood (employment) to millions of people and fetches billions of revenue to the nation. Let us hope to hear good news before Diwali from Ambani brothers whose togetherness is really capable of making India as the strongest economy in the world. N V S N Murthy, Scientist

» Stop Insulting Padma Awards
Posted by N V S N Murthy - Scientist on 2009-10-08 11:56:12.321767+05:30
We are insulting our Padma awards by ignoring the fact that Padma awards are meant exclusively for honouring people for their contribution to society and nation. Defeating the very purpose of this award and also insulting the people who received it on genuine grounds, government has foolishly selected Sachin Tendulkar – a cricketer whose contribution to society and nation is a big zero. For honouring players and actors like Sachin and Chiranjeevi, India has a different award like Khel Ratna and Nata Ratna. At least now, the government must recognize the fact that playing cricket, tennis, badminton, chess, mountaineering etc. does mean either public service or national service. Finally, let us not expose our misdeeds and foolish deeds to the other nations which are keenly observing. Lastly, let us uphold the sanctity of our national awards by selecting right people like Ratan Tata, Birla, Narayana Murthy, Venu Srinivasan, Mukesh Ambani, Anil Ambani, Anil Agarwal, Rahul Bajaj, Azim Premji, Tushar Mehendale etc. who have been feeding thousands of people and their families through employment and generating billions of revenue to the nation while also making the nation self sufficient in technology, engineering goods and services.

» Change of Rules Does Not Mean Reforms
Posted by N V S N Murthy on 2009-09-08 09:59:30.351644+05:30
In today’s professional and competitive world, efficient functioning by government means introduction of well designed, useful and meaningful reforms. This alone amounts to efficient and effective functioning of the nation, the output of which is termed as performance, the end result of which is termed as progress. Therefore, reforms should really mean a drastic change in concept, basis which - rules, regulations and procedures change. Hence changing rules for a change does not mean reforms. Lastly - reforms shall be need-based, conceptual, revolutionary, rational, logical, meaningful, useful, result oriented, appreciable and praiseworthy. Finally, let us prove the world that India and Indian can set standards to functioning and performance through innovative and creative reforms. Lastly, it is worse than a death to copy ideas from other nations, it is a real defeat if India is following the economic principles and tax laws of other nations. Let us make our own rules without looking at other nations since the needs and problems of different nations are different. To be international, we need not adopt the policies, rules and regulations of other nations. We seldom become leaders if we follow other nations. Today, all the developed nations became leaders just because they made their own rules without looking at others and in turn, they made all other nations to follow them. If we miss this message, we certainly miss peace, progress and development forever.

» Radical Reforms by Pranab Mukherjee

RADICAL TAX REFORMS BY INDIA’S JEWEL FM Pranab Mukherjee: At least after 62 years of Independence and serious economic disaster, India and Indians have received the most efficient and eminent finance minister for which AICC President and UPA Chairperson Mrs. Sonia Gandhi deserves all the praise. She became praiseworthy and worshipworthy by appointing Pranab Mukherjee as finance minister at the right time when the nation is getting crippled by recession. By all means, Pranab Mukherjee is the greatest economist ever born on the Indian soil. He is truly practical, highly rational and totally logical in his approach. Above all, he strongly believes in simple rules and easy formats – the burning need of the hour. Had he become the finance minister of India in the early days after Independence, India would have become the richest country in the world and Indians would have become the happiest in the world. It is unfortunate that Mukherjee is not given Bharat Ratna so far. In fact, he richly deserves noble laureate too in economics. Mukherjee silently proved himself as a great economist and genuine reformist. Till date, many people have loosely talked about reforms and made tall claims, hollow speeches and vague proposals, but Mukherjee is effectively delivering efficient reforms. Finally, it is evident that Pranab Mukherjee is a true disciple of India’s original reforms guru i.e. former prime minister late P V Narasimha Rao who had introduced India and Indians to the word “Reforms” without making any noise - the greatest quality and matchless ability of Rao who further proved himself as the silent master of our planet.

BJP leader Sushma Swaraj has taken a right decision in the right direction and also at the right time to oppose the international pacts vaguely signed by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. All said and done, such loose actions of Prime Minister will cause serious trouble to the nation. Most importantly, future governments also cannot callback such misdeeds. Therefore all the opposition parties, NGOs and all other concerned people must stand united to control the damaging actions of Manmohan Singh. Being a senior citizen at the age of 77, Manmohan Singh should protect the interests of the nation and he must prove that he is a good caretaker of the nation by involving all the concerned people in the decision making process.

For votes, power , position, name, fame, popularity, party gains, personal gains and money, the ruling parties (government) are sharply dividing the people of India along the dirty, nasty and unfounded lines of - caste, community, religion, region, mother-tongue, gender, local, non-local, minority, SC, ST, BC, OBC, Dalit, Harijan, Girijan, Vibhajan, Nanobhajan, Millibhajan, Minibhajan, Microbhajan, Macrobhajan, Megabhajan and Mahabhajan. This divisive work by government is weakening the nation at the gross root level since the people of India are constantly getting divided along the said lines. Once the nation becomes weak, destruction becomes inevitable. The only way to protect our nation is to quit our caste-based governance and policies. If India and Indians cannot quit their caste system, peace and progress will quit India and Indians forever. . … N V S N Murthy.

I am an ardent reader of the letters of Sri. NVSN Murthy. Being an Engineer, I have critically gone through his letters on various national and social matters. Through his great letters, Mr. NVSN Murthy had established a fact that his ideas on reforms are truly rational, logical, universal, sensible and highly beneficial to India and its people swelling beyond 1200 million. Such a tall person must be the head of our national reforms division so that the entire nation and people will be benefited. After Inda’s independence, no one has given great ideas like Murthy for a common cause. If India cannot utilize the priceless ideas and reforms of NVSN Murthy, India will certainly ruin the days to come.
