Till the time a new school can be constructed, flats within the complex have been made into a school. Similarly, dispensaries and ration shops are being provided in the flats.
Sheela , a resident of colony number 5 who is among the beneficiaries, said that her family has liked the house. As soon as they get the allotment letter, they would shift here. The families have to shift within a month of being given an allotment letter. Thereafter, the tracts of land that are vacated by removing the slums would be taken over by the Administration.
For the PMís eyes
The whole area was spruced up in the run up to the PMís visit. Officials of all departments worked at the site to present a pretty picture. Roads in the area were carpeted and lights repaired. The part of the complex that the PM had to see was given a new look. A sample flat fitted with an air-conditioner and LCD was also shown to him.
