High flying arms agent Abhishek Verma may be behind bars with multiple cases being filed against him by the CBI ranging from leaking secret documents to forgery but is still managing to maintain a social profile. Verma, who is in jail along with his wife Anca, has a profile on twitter that has suddenly become active again after a gap of months. While Verma may not be posting himself, his advocate has been posting updates, including the dates of his upcoming hearing in courts. The latest message is about the status of Verma’s mother who was admitted to a hospital recently.

TIHAR’S WHO’S WHO

THE Tihar jail has become home to several high-profile people from Haryana. To start with, Manu Sharma, son of former Congress minister Vinod Sharma, convicted in the Jessica Lal murder case, landed there. Thereafter, it was the turn of former minister of state for Home Gopal Kanda, who is facing trial in the Geetika Sharma suicide case. The latest inmates are INLD MLAs Ajay Chautala and Sher Singh Badshami, while party president Om Prakash Chautala was shifted to a hospital after a brief stay. Also thrown in are two IAS officers, Sanjiv Kumar and Vidyadhar, following their conviction in the JBT teachers’ recruitment scam. The prison authorities are worried about peace inside after a violent INLD protest in the Capital.
