Barley futures up on short covering

New Delhi: Barley futures prices recovered by 0.69 per cent on Thursday on stockists covering their pending positions in view of a better trend in spot markets.

At the NCDEX counter, barley for delivery in December contract recovered by 0.69 per cent to Rs 1,050 per quintal after moving between Rs 1,055 and Rs 1,044.

The contract recorded an open interest in 8,860 lots. Marketmen said fresh buying by traders after yesterday's sell-off, mainly pushed up barley futures prices.
