Barley falls on fresh selling

In restricted activity, barley prices fell by Rs 10 per quintal in the wholesale grains market today on fresh selling by consuming industries.

However, other grains moved in a narrow range on some deals and settled around previous levels.

Traders said some selling by consuming industries led to a fall in wholesale barley prices.

In the national capital, barley fell by 10 to Rs1,315-1,330 per quintal.

The following are today's quotations per quintal: Wheat MP (deshi) 2,025-2,225, Wheat dara (for mills) 1,620-1,625, Chakki atta (delivery) 1,625-1,630, Atta Rajdhani

(10 kg) 210, Shakti bhog (10 kg) 210, Roller flour mill 860-880 (50 kg), Maida 930-950 (50 kg) and Sooji 1020-1,060 (50kg).

Basmati rice (Lal Quila) 9,500, Shri Lal Mahal 9,500, Super Basmati Rice, 9,000, Basmati common new 4,900-5,000, Rice Pusa-(1121) new 4,200-4,900, Permal raw 1,950-2050, Permal wand 2,200-2,250, Sela 2,450-2,650 and Rice IR-8 1,500-1,600, Bajra 1,155-1,165, Jowar yellow 1,225-1,250, white 2,050-2,250, Maize 1,370-1,380, Barley 1,315-1,330, Rajasthan 1,080-1,090.
