Terming the application filed by ex-MD of Connaught Plaza Restaurants (CPRL) Vikram Bakshi as mala fide and unmaintainable, McDonald's India Private Ltd (MIPL), in its reply filed before the high court, has sought dismissal of Bakshi's plaint.

Earlier this month, Bakshi had filed an application in the court seeking an injunction against MIPL from pursuing arbitration in the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA) in respect of unresolved disputes between the two.

Bakshi was ousted last year from his position as the MD of CPRL, the joint venture that runs 150 McDonald's outlets in northern and eastern India. Subsequently, he moved the Company Law Board (CLB) alleging oppression and mismanagement against MIPL.

While the original dispute concerning allegations of oppression is still pending before the CLB, the tribunal last December rejected Bakshi's plea seeking stay on the LCIA arbitration proceedings instituted by MIPL.

The court will hear MIPL's arguments on Monday.
