Bajaj Auto plans to tap the Asian market by entering in a marketing alliance with Kawasaki whose distribution network will be used to sell its motorcycles in Indonesia, a top company official said.

"The company's board had given consent to the deal while Kawasaki had approved it on September 12. The newly launched Bajaj Pulsar 200 NS will be the first product under this alliance. Export to the Indonesian market will start in the middle of 2012," Bajaj Auto Ltd's Managing Director Rajiv Bajaj said.

The company may also replicate this tie-up to another six to seven markets worldwide including Brazil, he said.

Bajaj and Kawasaki have had such an arrangement in the Philippines, he said.
