Asus MeMO Pad ME172V running on Android Jelly Bean priced at Rs 9,999
The MeMO Pad is quite sturdy and weighs 358 grams. Since it is light, it can be used for long without discomfort. Its checkered rear panel provides comfortable grip. The tablet does not feel bulky to hold and is 11.2 mm thick.
The 7-inch capacitive display supports 10-point multi-touch (most tablets support five-point multi-touch), which makes gaming a good experience. However, the TN (twisted neumatic) panel on the TFT screen disappoints due to bad viewing angles. Also, images appear dull as the contrast ratio isn't up to the mark.
MeMO Pad runs Android's Jelly Bean OS. Asus has not applied a custom theme, which ensures good performance.
In terms of performance, the tablet is very quick and responsive. Browsing application menus, photo gallery, and opening various apps was swift. Popular game Temple Run 2 didn't freeze at all while playing. The tablet impresses the most while switching between apps, the action is almost instant, without any lags.
On the audio front, MeMO Pad features Sonic Master technology. The audio quality is fairly loud when in a noisy environment.
