SummaryThe war of words between BJP and AAP is growing amid realisation that Kejriwal's entry could harm BJP's interest much more than that of Congress in Lok Sabha polls.

Congress today took potshots at Narendra Modi over his attack on the Aam Aadmi Party and asked whether the emergence of Arvind Kejriwal's party has made the BJP's prime ministerial candidate "nervous".

"Modi's criticism of Congress is understandable, but of late he has started criticising AAP too. Is he really nervous by AAP's emergence?", AICC General Secretary in-charge for Delhi, Shakeel Ahmad said on twitter.

In an apparent dig at AAP, Modi had yesterday asked whether good can happen by constantly being on TV screens or through constructive vision on the ground.

"People must decide-- will good happen by constantly being on TV screens or through constructive and development-oriented vision on ground," he had tweeted soon after addressing a rally in Goa.

"There are some who are questioning the BJP's credentials. The Congress' protector is questioning us," Modi had said.

Earlier, AAP had questioned BJP's credential.

The war of words between BJP and AAP is growing amid realisation in the opposition party that Kejriwal's entry could harm BJP's interest much more than that of Congress in Lok Sabha polls.

In his tweets in the last few days, Ahmed had also taken a jibe at Kejriwal's party.

On Saturday, when chaos prevailed at the first 'janta darbar' organised by AAP government outside the Delhi Secretariat forcing Kejriwal to leave the venue mid-way, Ahmed used a Urdu couplet by poet Mir Taqi Mir to criticise the party.

"Complains regarding 1st Janta Darbar of AAP govt reminds me of an Urdu couplet. Ibtadaye Ishq Hai Rota Hai Kya- Aage-Aage Dekhiye Hota Hai Keya. (Why cry. It's beginning of love. Let us see what comes ahead).

A day before Ahmed had tweeted "AAP govt reminds me of the early days of Lalu Raj. Oath at JP's Statue, call to fight corruption, Janta Darbar, hair cut& bath to poor children etc".

The term 'Lalu Raj' has more than often been used by parties opposed to the RJD as well as analysts to describe lack of development initiatives, lawlessness and lack of governance in Bihar during those days.

Earlier when Kejriwal's party announced a plan to encourage people to fight corruption through sting operations, Ahmed tweeted, "AAP govt is asking to do sting against corrupt ppl, hopefully they will not reject them as they rejected the sting against AAP candidates".

Ahmed was then referring to the sting operation carried out by a media portal on Aam Aadmi
