One more case of swine flu, total 26

Chandigarh:One fresh case of swine flu was admitted Thursday to PGIMER taking the total number of patients caught with swine flu to 26. Rishabh (8) from Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, was admitted after he tested positive to the virus. So far six deaths and 26 cases of swine flu have been reported in the city.

Meet on road safety held at PGGC-46

Chandigarh:More than 250 students participated in a workshop on road safety organised by Traffic Awareness and Road Safety Society of Post Graduate Government College on Sector 46 on Thursday. The event was organised in collaboration with Chandigarh Traffic Police. DSP Jaswinder Singh informed students about road safety rules. Videos were also shown to students and were informed that most of the accidents were caused due to negligence and rash driving. According to a 2011 survey, 136 people were killed and 370 were injured.

Cops take part in trauma response workshop

Chandigarh:A trauma response workshop was organised in PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industries in Sector 31 for police personnel of Traffic, PCR and IRB. The workshop was part of the Road Safety Week 2013 being observed in the city. More than 184 police personnel from Traffic, PCR and IRB attended the workshop. Dr Manpreet Singh and other doctors from the department of Anesthesia and Intensive Care Unit imparted practical training to the participants. DSP Traffic Kamal Deep also delivered a lecture on the importance of trauma response for police personnel.
