Bangalore: : Aptech Training Ltd has announced the introduction of the Aptech Plus curriculum for computer education in 127 schools across India. Addressing a press conference Aptech Training Ltd managing director Pramod Khera said, “Aptech Plus is a comprehensive solution which addresses every facet of integrating IT education into the curriculum of schools.”
Aptech plans to extend Aptech Plus to about 1,000 schools this year, Mr Khera said. The curriculum includes six subjects spread over a time frame of 40 hours across all standards. Starting from KG to 12th standard, the topics covered are word processing and DTP, graphics, animation and multimedia, spreadsheet, database, programming, Internet and emerging technologies.
In the lower standards Aptech Plus incorporates the play-way method of teaching in schools, but when it comes to higher classes it is instructor led. Aptech Plus would provide training for teachers handling these subjects by providing theory and lab guides, Mr Khera said. The cost for taking the course would come out to about Rs 15 per student per month, he added.
