Apollo Hospitals, whose Reach Hospital was inaugurated by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh here on Monday, said it will open 200 more such institutes at almost all district headquarters across the country.
Preetha Reddy, Managing Director of Apollo Hospitals, said as of now, ten Apollo Reach Hospitals were operational and work was underway to inaugurate several more. She was speaking at the inauguration of the 110-bed multidisciplinary hospital.
Apollo Hospitals Group Chairman, P C Reddy, said over 46 per cent of the people in the country still needed to travel more than 100 km to access healthcare and large parts of semi-urban and rural india "do remain largely under-served".
The Reach Hospital here would provide patients with services in 21 specialties including most of Apollo's centres of excellence such as cardiology and cardio thoracic surgery, orthopaedics, emergency and critical care, he said.
