Four years after releasing Bhoothnath, the production house, B. R. Films is set to roll out the film’s sequel. While the earlier film was directed by Vivek Sharma, this time, Nitesh Tiwari, who co-directed Chillar Party, will be wielding the megaphone.
A story of a child becoming friends with a ghost, Bhoothnath starred Amitabh Bachchan in the lead role as a ghost. Interestingly, the actor will play the lead in the sequel too. When contacted, the director, who was reluctant to divulge the details, confirmed, “All I can say is that it’s happening and Bhoothnath 2 can’t happen without Mr Bachchan. When it takes off is what we need to wait and watch.” Next year, Bachchan will be working on several projects like Prakash Jha’s Satyagraha, Sudhir Mishra’s Mehrunissa and Sujoy Ghosh’s Badla.
