Almond prices decline on reduced offtake

New Delhi, Jan 31 (PTI) Almond prices declined by Rs 100 per 40 kg in the national capital today due to reduced offtake by retailers and stockists.

Adequate stock availability following increased arrivals from overseas markets also weighed on the select dry fruit prices.

Almond (California) prices fell by Rs 100 to Rs 14,800 per 40 kg and its kernel rates also eased by Rs 5 to Rs 495-545 per kg.

Traders attributed the fall in almond prices to reduced offtake by retailers and stockists amid a fall in demand.

The following are today's quotations (per 40 kg): Almond (California) Rs 14,800 Almond (Gurbandi-new) Rs 7,300-8,000; Almond (Girdhi) Rs 3,500-4,200; Abjosh Afghani Rs 8,000-20,000.

Almond Kernel (California-new) Rs 495-545 per kg, Almond Kernel (Gurbandi-new) Rs 400-450 per kg.
