The two Italian marines jailed for killing two Indian fishermen off the Kerala coast in February, Friday pleaded the High Court to relax their bail conditions so they could go home for Christmas.
Latore Massimilliano and Salvator Girone have been on bail since May 30 but are not allowed to leave Kochi. They have also surrendered their passports to the police.
The petitioners said they wanted to join the prayers arranged for them back home during Christmas. They have filed affidavits, swearing they would return to India within two weeks. They also said that Italy would take the responsibility for their return.
