



Mumbai: Public sector lender Allahabad Bank on Monday said its net profit for the December quarter grew by one per cent to Rs 369.46 crore over the corresponding period a year ago.
The bank had a net profit of Rs 365.05 crore in the December quarter last fiscal, Allahabad Bank said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
The total income rose to Rs 2,306.44 crore for the quarter under review from Rs 1,956.41 crore in the same quarter last year.
While, for the nine-month period ended December 31, 2008, Allahabad Bank registered a net profit of Rs 504.51 crore, a decline of 37.43 per cent over the same period last year. It had a net profit of Rs 805.23 crore in the same period of FY'08.
Total income for the nine-month period rose to Rs 6,133.27 crore compared with Rs 5,155.80 crore last fiscal.
Allahabad Bank surged 4.44 per cent from its previous close and was trading at Rs 54.15 crore in late afternoon trade on the BSE.
