In rural areas, unemployment rate of 4.4 per cent whereas in urban areas, the same is 5.7 per cent, said Singh.

Unemployment rate was found to be higher in females as compared to males. At all India level, female unemployment rate is estimated to be 7.2 per cent whereas in males, it is 4 per cent.

In rural areas, 12.9 per cent households are estimated to be having regular or wage earning as major source of income. In urban areas, this figure is 42.1 per cent, said Singh.
