Kolkata/New Delhi: : Airtel Thursday announced a new mobile-to-mobile STD ‘rate’ of 50 paisa per minute. However, the rate is applicable only for the first hundred minutes and that too for its post-paid subscribers who are on the high-end tariff plans (Rs 599 upwards). Thus, majority of Airtel’s pre-paid subscribers can’t avail these tariffs. The new tariff is applicable in all circles from May 30.
These STD tariff are linked to a commitment of Rs 50. To get these rates, subscribers are required to pay an additional Rs 50 per month for which they get 100 minutes of free mobile-to-mobile STD talktime. However, calls beyond 100 minutes will be charged Rs 1.99 a minute, informed Bharti Tele-Ventures mobility president Manoj Kohli in a media conference in Kolkata. This option will be offered over and above the free STD calls offered to high-end users.
