Though no strike threat has been given, a joint forum of eight Air India unions representing different sections of staff of the national carrier has said they would soon start wearing black badges, take out silent marches and rallies, hold gate meetings and adopt a 'No pay, No work' policy.

The unions said the date and time of protest would be decided shortly. Air India pilots had gone on a 58-day long strike over career progression issue from May 7.

AIR INDIA STAFF SET TO REVOLT

Shadi Katyal | 21-Oct-2012Reply | Forward
This should not come as a surprise to any one as AIR INDIA is a PSU and GOI has no courage to stand up to such militant unions. Unions are well aware that GOI will meet their demands as past record shows. While in the mean time foreign flags make the hay while the strikes last .Why would any traveler even book any future flight when one is aware of any pending strike. This kind of threat will cause more loss to Air India but unless unions are controlled this will continue for decades to come
