After Ranji knockout DDCA plans introspection

Just three days after Delhi\'s Ranji Trophy campaign ended prematurely, when they failed to make it to the knockout stage, the Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA) is contemplating an overall review of the team\'s on-field performance this season and take stock of the off-field issues that may have contributed towards the early exit. The Cricket Improvement Committee (CIC) has requested that the DDCA convene a meeting to discuss, among other issues, the \'provisional suspension\' of Manoj Prabhakar as chief coach. The DDCA is also exploring options to add to its coaching staff, to help Sanjeev Sharma prepare better for the remaining one-dayers and T20 matches of the season.

Prabhakar was sacked just two days before the start of the season after speaking out against the DDCA selectors and a few senior players. Following this, his deputy Sanjeev Sharma was asked to take charge for the season. While the DDCA is expected to consider Prabhakar\'s reinstatement — after the CIC backed his case and termed his suspension illegal in a strongly worded letter—there\'s also a possibility that former India medium-pacer Amit Bhandari (who is coaching the Delhi under-22 side that has reached the semi-finals of the CK Nayudu Trophy) and, former Delhi and current KKR coach Vijay Dahiya, may be roped in to assist the team.
