The Asian Film Foundation which is organising the 7th Third Eye Asian Film Festival from October 16 will felicitate Aamir Khan and Madhur Bhandarkar for their achievements.

Chairman of the foundation Kiran Shantaram told reporters that Aamir will be honoured for his acclaimed directorial debut film 'Taare Zameen Par' while Madhur will be felicitated for winning national award for best director thrice.

As many as 80 films from 20 countries will be screened from October 16 to 23 at three different venues –Chavan centre, Plaza cinema and Fun Republic.

Apart from Aamir and Madhur, Korean director Park Kwang Su will receive Asian film culture award and P K Nair, former director of National film Archive will get the Satyajit Ray memorial award.

Festival director Sudhir Nandgaonkar said seven to eight films have been selected for the competition section in which cash awards will be given to debutant director and best short film.

In the Asian Masters section, seven films of Satyajit Ray will be screened. Apart from this, homage will be paid to Youssef Shahine, the Egyptian director who died recently with three films. Besides, tributes would be paid to late Vijay Tendulkar by screening films written by him like 'Manthan', 'Ardha Satya' and 'Umbartha'.
