Aam Aadmi Party vows to cut fuel prices, send ‘corrupt’ to jail

Speaking at Sansad Marg, Kejriwal said that if elected he will bring down the petrol price to Rs 50, diesel to Rs 40, cooking gas to Rs 350, and eradicate poverty and hunger in five years.

The revulsion for ‘corrupt’ politicians, the hallmark of India Against Corruption, was carried forward by the AAP at the function but with a difference. The list of ‘corrupt’ became diverse and along with it a promise to jail all those found guilty within six months of ‘coming to power’ was made.

The speakers at the event touted the 2014 Parliamentary elections as ‘political parties vs common man’ and treated as foregone conclusion an AAP government in Delhi after the 2013 Assembly polls.

Kejriwal said that instead of giving rebates in corporate taxes, he will waive off taxes on fuel. Reiterating charges against Reliance and the government on KG Basin, he said if the present government succeeds to get Reliance a higher price for the gas, cooking gas would Rs 1,200 a cylinder.
