Director Allen Hughes’ solo directorial debut is a tale of a cop-turned-private investigator Billy Taggart (Mark Wahlberg), who is hired by the Mayor Nicholas Hostetler (Russell Crowe) to investigate the supposed infidelity of his wife Emily Barlow (Catherine Zeta Jones). When she shows up dead, Billy is drawn into a far-reaching political conspiracy.
Apparently, Mark Wahlberg wanted to play the role of Mayor and Russell Crowe wanted to be cast as Billy after reading the script of Broken City.
The buzz:The Academy award-winning composer Atticus Ross, who gave music for The Social Network and The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, has given the score for for Broken City too.
