Australia vice captain Adam Gilchrist has dismissed Indian captain Anil Kumble's criticism about the lack of sportsman spirit among the hosts and said his teammates don't regret their behaviour in the Sydney Test.

"Though I have not seen his comments or heard him, but that's what I have been told about. I think that's not right," an unrepentant Gilchrist said.

"Definitely we don't feel so and we are not sorry about anything. I do not know what he is referring to," Gilchrist told CNN-IBN.

Enraged over the on-field antics of the Aussies, Kumble, had earlier said that only one team was playing in the true spirit of the game.

The match which gave the Australia a record equaling 16th straight Test win was marred by poor umpiring and ugly on-field spat between the two sides.

India bore the brunt of umpiring blunders by Steve Bucknor and Mark Benson and the dubious dismissals of Rahul Dravid and Sourav Ganguly on the last day cost them the match.

Gilchrist, however, was not ready to dwell on the controversies and preferred to savour the thrilling win.

"We obviously enjoyed the end result. Both the teams at any point of time in the game could say they have the upper hand and the other time forth back.

"So it's topsy-turvy and we just grabbed it from the jaws of the draw I guess. At the end it was thrill. At some of the controversial ground, there was lot of talking points but yeah look we got through," he said.

Well the unrepentant attitude of the aussies reeks and it shows that they will stoop to any level to maintain their win record and continue to play mind games with the opposition to win The 'blind umpires' also seem happy dancing to the aussie tune blissfully to help them in their cause. The BCCI should wake up for once and show some mettle in calling off the tour unless Bhajji is cleared.

I have read this news in today's newspapers. Gilchrist defends his team's behaviour and says that Australians are not sorry. He is wrong. To admit a mistake and to say sorry, one needs a very strong character. Peter Roebuck has written that Ricky Ponting has turned a group of professional cricketers into a pack of wild dogs. Can one expect an apology from Australians now?

How bizarre! Symonds gets insulted, in India and in Australia, and HE should be banned. India should abandon the tour and only play Bangladesh from now on. They'd probably still find something to whine about.

The gentleman title for Adam Gilchrist who was considered a 'walker' is no long longer valid. Its plain chaeting by him to have claimed the catch of Rahul Dravid in the second innings of the SCG. Australia's one aim was to somehow achieve their 16 wins in a row and thy were ready to stoop down to any level. The umpires on their part also played well into this Aussie thinking and successfully supported them.Team India should act tough and immidiately abandon the tour to checkmate the on field Aussie behaviour.

Jaffer, Dhoni, Yuvaraj should be banned for 3 Test Matches. Yuvaraj can have his honeymoon back home. He is a disgrace to the country

Play in Sydney only if Bhajji is cleared and Bucknor is removed. Actually Symonds should be banned from cricket for 10 years.

BCCi has not thought the alternatives. It is more than just the Bhaji gesture. The gestures Bhaji did to Lee are common in NFL (national football league ) side of the world. Lee should come in open to express his displeasure, why has Symonds has to butt in.Instead of BCCI officials being bribed for lost revenues, they need to arrange matches in India to be played with ICL WORLD XI Team A, Team B, Team C. Have guts to find a different way to solve problem instead of being pressured about lost TV revenues by the televisions and BCCI. The above was in response to :"BCCI working committee is holding an emergency meeting on Tuesday to discuss the standoff and firm up its strategy. With both sides likely to suffer financial losses and an unprecedented disruption of the cricketing calendar if the Indians return, Cricket Australia seemed anxious for an early de-escalation. James Sutherland, CA chief executive, said he was confident the tour would progress and asked Kumble and his Australian counterpart Ricky Ponting to sort out their differences."

We been talking about poor impiring for Dravid's dismissal in 2nd inning. Why don't we question gilchrist's honesty as he appealed for a caught behind when he can clearly see that ball never hit the bat. Their is no way he can miss that.

I am as outraged as any indian and appreciate the outpourings of emotion in the country. But you know what, being a NRI and settled abroad,we understand that all these displays only shock them and sometimes even draw a chuckle out of them! Hence the only place to hurt them is where it really hurts viz..in the commercial world! Will the so-called giants of Indian advertisement and commerce industry show any loyalty towards their own men and ban adverts, commercials and even movies involving the aussie cricketers!! Do they have it in their heart to do that? Will the public force them to ban their lucrative contracts? Do not forget the only reason India has a say these days is because of our commercial power and that's the only place where it hurts them!Otherwise they would have discarded us away by now without even a byword!
