Lootah IT Solutions (LITS), the ICT arm of the multimillion dollar UAE-business conglomerate S S Lootah Group, is set to open its Indian base in Technopark in Kerala. The family-run SS Lootah Group has worldwide interests across sectors like construction, real estate, energy, food and hospitality, financial services, applied research, ICT, education and healthcare.

The proposed LITS development centre will offer advanced information infrastructure for service industries. A protocol to this effect was signed in Delhi by Abdulla Saeed Lootah, CEO, Lootah IT Solutions and Radhakrishnan Nair, CEO, Technopark. Yahya Lootah, Vice-Chairman-CEO, SS Lootah Group and directors Rashid Lootah and Yousef Lootah are also involved in the tie-up.

Last year, Lootah top brass, who visited India had announced that they had identified potential Indian partners for tie-ups in five sectors - infrastructure, oil and gas, energy, IT and health. The Group had also proposed to work with GAIL, NTPC, ONGC and Bharat Petroleum in their projects in developing countries.

After the accord with LITS, details like quantum of investment and space and facilities required are yet to be discussed, Radhakrishnan Nari told FE. "However, the entry plan of a UAE business giant of SS Lootah's size and brand is a milestone for Technopark," he said.

The new LITS Kerala facility envisages software development including CRM (customer relationship management) solutions and solutions for sectors like engineering, construction, energy and environment.

The proposed centre in Technopark was "a natural progression" as Lootah It Solutions in UAE had been working with several companies in Technopark, Abdulla Saeed Lootah said, in a release. "We are looking at setting up our permanent base in India, known for its IT manpower.

This will be our gateway to reach out to a larger market in the subcontinent and other parts of Asia," he added.

Lootah IT Solutions was the first to customize web hosting in UAE and are pioneers of large scale wimax solutions. It is known for large IT infrastructure projects including the largest hubs for cascaded networks for colleges, large companies, and data centers.

LITS is market leader in its unique association and partnership with branded computers and their peripherals, networking and communication products and has expanded its portfolio to offer unique services in digital signage, 3D visualization and A/V Technology.
