New Delhi, March 17: Indian Finance Minister Palaniappan Chidambaram said on Monday there was tremendous pressure on the government to fight inflation.
There is still a mismatch between the demand and supply of food articles, he told lawmakers in parliament, which was adding to price pressures.
"Our intention is to ensure and make all efforts to sustain growth of more than 8 percent and close to 9 percent in 2007/08," Chidambaram added.
