Mumbai, Sep 2: A technical snag in one of the system applications of private sector lender HDFC Bank on Tuesday affected around 60 lakh customers in India.

Paresh Sukthankar, executive director, HDFC Bank informed that the snag crippled all retail services of the bank. As a result, services like cash withdrawals from HDFC ATM machines and retail banking through the HDFC Bank website came to a standstill for a couple of hours.

A statement issued read, “HDFC Bank today experienced a technical problem in one of its system applications catering to its retail customers, affecting certain services. The bank’s other systems like corporate banking, depository, treasury, credit cards etc functioned normally. The bank is working to resolve the problem.”
