Mumbai, October 16:: Tata Consultancy Services Ltd, India's top software services exporter, will add a total 9,000 employees for the October-December quarter, a top company official said.

The company's plan to hire 35,000 employees for the full year to March 2008 was on track, S. Padmanabhan, executive director human resources, told a news conference.

Tata Consultancy, part of the diversified Tata Group, on Monday posted a better-than-forecast 26 percent jump in quarterly profit to 12.47 billion rupees ($317 million) as it won large outsourcing deals and raised fees for customers. ($1 = 39.3 rupees)
