: Haryana, a primarily agriculture-dominated state, has seen rapid industrialisation in recent years. Due its locational advantage (it is bounded by four states), and its proximity to Delhi, the state is all set to become one of the top destinations for investments in the country.

Towards this end, as also the larger goal of all-round development of the state, the PHDC Chamber of India has been holding a series of round table discussions. Based on these views, a report would be submitted to the state chief minister.

The PHDCCI visualises a strategy for achieving rapid development in the following areas:

* Employment generation through focused sectoral development especially in the niche areas of the state;

* Attracting new industries/ investments/enhanced business opportunities;

* Achieve industrial growth of over 10% per annum;

* Development of quality industrial infrastructure supported by the required social services;

* Developing islands of excellence in manufacturing and agri business;

* Identify and strategise the growth of sunrise industries like information technology and biotechnology;

* Excellence in education and health;

* Rural development and water management

The strategy aims at bridging the gap between digital India and rural India thereby creating more jobs and more income for the people.
