New Delhi, March 28: India's main stock index provisionally closed 2.41 percent higher on Friday, posting its biggest weekly gain in five months, led by Reliance Industries and Larsen & Toubro Ltd.
The main 30-share BSE index provisionally added 386.07 points to 16,401.63, with 23 components rising.
It had fallen as much as 0.82 percent after weekly data showed annual inflation rose to 6.68 percent in mid-March, its highest in more than one year.
The broader NSE index provisionally rose 2.51 percent to 4,951.55.
