New Delhi, March 28: India's main stock index opened 0.53 percent higher on Friday, led by Reliance Industries and State Bank of India.

At 9:57 a.m., the main 30-share BSE index was up 0.64 percent, or 102.92 points, at 16,118.48, with 24 components rising. It rose as much as 0.94 percent.
